My Dirt Bender – Another Jounal

To sum it up, these are my personal impressions of several dozen effect pedals, firmly centered on (low gain) overdrive pedals for bass. My personal basses are equipped with well worn flatwound strings and I strongly favor the six string bass, so take these texts for what they are: A personal account with no claim towards being objective reviews. Some of these pedals get more time and more words, because I liked them more. Other pedals get but a brief review, because I did not bond with them, or even felt a (strong) dislike.

Some of these accounts are somewhat snobbish in their nature. Please accept that bearing towards pedals, bass playing and music in general as my expression of humor. I have the highest respect for anyone rocking their instrument, regardless of make or price. I know that tone is in the fingers, and I always prefer chops over gear whenever I find the time to leave the den and play with others.

For those wondering about the weird spelling of the word ‘Jounal’:
It was a typo on Talkbass, which went undiscovered until page 6 of the thread. I decided to follow through with it. There are many journals about many things, but there is only one jounal – and it’s about bass dirt.
